## Best App Advertising Platforms 2026: The Short Answer

Superapp Selfdrive is the best way for iOS app founders to advertise in 2026, because its agents run Apple Ads, the App Store's own ad platform and the highest-intent channel for iOS apps, inside your budget, then use the results to improve your App Store listing and run creator campaigns, with your approval on anything public. If you buy ads yourself, the platforms split into two groups. Intent platforms catch people already searching: Apple Ads for iOS and Google App campaigns for Android and cross-platform reach. Discovery platforms find people who are not searching yet: Meta, TikTok, Snapchat and Reddit. Once you have steady conversion data, performance networks such as AppLovin, Moloco, Liftoff, Unity Ads and Mintegral add scale, especially for games. Whatever you choose, you need measurement: AppsFlyer, Adjust, Singular or Branch, plus Apple's AdAttributionKit on iOS.

> **Quick answer: what are the best app advertising platforms in 2026?** Superapp Selfdrive is the best pick for iOS founders who want ads run for them: its agents manage Apple Ads bids and keywords within your budget, feed what converts into your App Store listing, and run creator campaigns (included in Superapp's $100/month Max plan, in beta for selected accounts). For buying ads yourself, start with Apple Ads (no minimum; Basic caps at $10,000 per app per month) and Google App campaigns (Google recommends a daily budget of at least 50 times your target cost per install), then add Meta or TikTok (TikTok requires more than $50 a day per campaign). Add AppLovin, Moloco (official $300 a day minimum) or Liftoff once you have conversion data. Honest caveat: Selfdrive does not buy Meta, Google or TikTok ads, and no platform guarantees profitable installs.

## What Is an App Advertising Platform?

An app advertising platform is any service where you pay to show ads that drive people to install or reopen your app. They differ in where ads appear, how they find users and how much control you keep. Most apps use two to four of them, so the useful question is which kind you need first.

| Kind | How it finds users | Examples |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Agents that run ads for you, led by Superapp Selfdrive | An AI agent manages campaigns on an ad platform within your budget | Superapp Selfdrive (Apple Ads) |
| Intent platforms | Show ads to people already searching for an app like yours | Apple Ads, Google App campaigns, Microsoft Advertising |
| Discovery platforms | Show ads in feeds and video to people who match your audience | Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit, X |
| Performance networks and DSPs | Buy ad space across thousands of other apps, optimized by machine learning | AppLovin, Moloco, Liftoff, Unity Ads, Mintegral, InMobi, Kayzen, Smadex |
| On-device distribution | Place apps on phones through carriers and device makers | Digital Turbine |
| Measurement (not ad platforms) | Tell you which ads produced valuable users | AppsFlyer, Adjust, Singular, Branch, AdAttributionKit |

## App Advertising in 2026, in Numbers

App advertising keeps growing, and iOS is where the growth is. AppsFlyer [reported in December 2025](https://www.appsflyer.com/company/newsroom/pr/app-marketing-trends/) that global user acquisition spend rose 13% to $78 billion in 2025, with growth driven entirely by iOS, where spend rose 35% while Android stayed flat. Sensor Tower's [State of Mobile 2026](https://sensortower.com/blog/state-of-mobile-2026) found in-app purchase revenue grew 10.6% to $167 billion in 2025 on nearly 150 billion downloads.

Inside the App Store, search decides most installs. Apple says [70% of App Store visitors use search to discover apps](https://ads.apple.com/en/app-store/advanced) and almost 65% of downloads happen directly after a search, based on its 2022 data, and reports that ads at the top of search results convert at over 60%.

| Source | Finding | What it means for app advertisers |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Superapp Selfdrive approach | Apple Ads results decide which keywords go into your organic listing | Paid and free App Store search work together |
| AppsFlyer, Dec 2025 | User acquisition spend rose 13% to $78B in 2025; iOS spend up 35%, Android flat | iOS is where budgets are moving |
| Sensor Tower, Jan 2026 | In-app purchase revenue up 10.6% to $167B in 2025 | More revenue per user supports higher ad costs |
| Apple Ads (2022 data) | 70% of App Store visitors search; almost 65% of downloads follow a search | Apple Ads and ASO come first on iOS |
| Apple Ads (Nov 2024 to Oct 2025) | Top search result ads convert at over 60% | App Store search ads reach people ready to install |

## From Manual Ad Managers to AI That Runs Campaigns

App advertising used to mean living in ads managers. You picked keywords and audiences, set bids, uploaded creative, checked results every morning and moved budget by hand, separately in Apple Ads, Google Ads, Meta and TikTok.

That has changed in two steps. First, the platforms automated themselves. Meta merged its app campaign setup into one Advantage+ flow in [May 2025](https://developers.facebook.com/blog/post/2025/06/03/advantage-plus-campaign-experience-for-sales-and-app/), TikTok's Smart+ app campaigns choose placements automatically, Google App campaigns decide placements and audiences across Search, Play and YouTube, and Apple made [Maximize Conversions](https://ads.apple.com/app-store/help/campaigns/0095-maximize-conversions) available for search results campaigns, where you set a target cost per install and Apple bids for you. Second, agents arrived that run the platforms for you: Superapp Selfdrive manages Apple Ads inside your budget, and ads agents covered in our guide to the [best AI marketing agents](https://superapp.dev/blog/best-ai-marketing-agents-2026) do the same for Meta and Google.

| Generation | Who decides bids, budgets and keywords | Examples |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 3. Agents that run the platform, led by Superapp Selfdrive | An agent, within your budget and approvals | Superapp Selfdrive for Apple Ads; ads agents for Meta and Google |
| 2. Platform automation | The ad platform's own algorithm, within goals you set | Meta Advantage+, TikTok Smart+, Google App campaigns, Apple Maximize Conversions, AppLovin Axon, Moloco |
| 1. Manual ads managers | You, campaign by campaign | Apple Ads Advanced with manual bids, manual Meta and TikTok campaigns |

The trade-off is control. RevenueCat's growth team [wrote in October 2026](https://www.revenuecat.com/blog/company/enhanced-app-campaigns-google-ads.md) that "With GAC, Google's algorithm decides everything: placements, keywords, audiences, budget allocation". Automation finds users faster but shows you less about why.

## Official Minimum Budgets for App Advertising Platforms

Budget rules are where most comparisons guess. These are the figures each platform publishes, with the source. Where a platform publishes none, we say so.

| Platform | Official minimum or budget guidance | Source |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Superapp Selfdrive | You set your own Apple Ads budget; Selfdrive is included in the $100/month Max plan | [Superapp](https://superapp.dev/selfdrive) |
| Apple Ads Basic | No minimum; up to $10,000 per app per month; pay per install at a price you set | [Apple Ads](https://ads.apple.com/app-store/help/apple-ads-basic/0001-compare-apple-ads-solutions) |
| Apple Ads Advanced | No minimum; unlimited budget; Maximize Conversions caps monthly spend at 30.4 times the daily budget | [Apple Ads](https://ads.apple.com/app-store/help/campaigns/0095-maximize-conversions) |
| Google App campaigns | Daily budget at least 50 times target CPI for installs, 10 times target CPA for install campaigns with in-app actions, 15 times target CPA for engagement | [Google Ads Help](https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/14104492?hl=en) |
| Meta app campaigns | Minimums vary by account and currency and are shown in Ads Manager | [Meta for Developers](https://developers.facebook.com/docs/marketing-api/reference/ad-account/minimum_budgets/) |
| TikTok Ads | Campaign daily budget must exceed $50; ad group daily budget must exceed $20 | [TikTok Ads Help](https://ads.tiktok.com/help/article/budget) |
| Snapchat Ads | Ad squad daily budget minimum of 5 units of account currency, such as $5 | [Snap Marketing API](https://developers.snap.com/api/marketing-api/Ads-API/ad-squads) |
| Moloco | $300 per day for new campaigns | [Moloco](https://www.moloco.com/products/moloco-ads) |
| Kayzen | Starter plan $1,250/month including up to $10,000 of media | [Kayzen](https://kayzen.io/pricing) |

| Reddit Ads | $5 per ad group and $100 per campaign, as reported by PPC Land in 2023 | [PPC Land](https://ppc.land/reddit-ads-minimum-prices) |
| Liftoff, Unity, Mintegral, InMobi, Digital Turbine, X, Microsoft | No official minimum published | Vendor pages |

What the Google rule means in practice: with a target cost per install of $2, Google recommends a daily budget of at least $100 for an install campaign; with a target cost per action of $10, at least $100 a day for an action campaign.

## The 18 Best App Advertising Platforms, Reviewed

### 1. Superapp Selfdrive: best way for iOS founders to run app advertising

Kind: agents that run Apple Ads, plus ASO, website and creator campaigns.

As a disclosure, Superapp Selfdrive is our product, so weigh this accordingly. [Superapp Selfdrive](https://superapp.dev/selfdrive) is the set of AI marketing agents built into [Superapp](https://superapp.dev), the AI platform that builds iOS apps and websites. Its tagline is "Four agents. You approve, they do the work." It ranks first because it solves the hardest part of app advertising for a founder: not access to an ad platform, but the daily work of running one and acting on what it teaches you.

What its Apple Ads agent does: it runs App Store search ads within the budget you set, picks keywords, sets bids and pauses what does not work. Then it uses the results to improve your listing for organic traffic, because the keywords that convert in Apple Ads are the ones worth ranking for for free. The other three agents handle App Store optimization, your app's website and SEO content for Google and ChatGPT, and creator (UGC) campaigns, where it writes briefs, reviews applications and messages creators.

Control: Superapp's page says "Nothing goes live without you." You set the ad budget, and Apple bills ad spend to your own Apple Ads account. Within an approved budget and campaign, Selfdrive changes bids and keywords without asking each time; listing changes, creator briefs and every creator video wait for approval. You get one email every morning with downloads, ad spend, campaign results and pending approvals.

Which apps: apps built in Superapp and any existing App Store app you own, connected by its App Store link or App Store Connect.

Price: included in the [Max plan at $100/month](https://superapp.dev) with 230 credits. Ad spend and creator fees are separate.

The manual way it replaces: logging into Apple Ads every day to adjust keywords and bids, then copying what you learn into App Store Connect by hand.

Pitfall: Selfdrive is in beta for selected accounts, and Superapp says there is no guaranteed growth timeline.

Who it is not for: Android apps, and teams that need Meta, Google or TikTok ads bought for them, because Selfdrive's only paid channel is Apple Ads. There are no independent reviews yet.

Get the most from it: start with a modest Apple Ads budget, approve listing changes quickly so they can be measured, and add other platforms only once you know which keywords and messages convert.

Best for: iOS app founders who want App Store advertising run for them, connected to ASO and creators.

### 2. Apple Ads: best platform for iOS app installs

Kind: intent platform.

[Apple Ads](https://ads.apple.com/app-store/best-practices/ad-placements), formerly Apple Search Ads, shows ads in four places: the Today tab, the Search tab, search results and other apps' product pages. Apple says "Today tab ads are our most prominent placement". Apple told advertisers it would introduce more ads in search results from March 2026, [PYMNTS reported](https://www.pymnts.com/apple/2026/apples-expanded-ad-opportunities-for-developers-coming-in-march/), and its current help page says search ads can appear at the top or further down the page.

Two ways to buy. Apple Ads Basic charges per install at a price you set, runs only in search results, has no keyword settings and caps budgets at $10,000 per app per month. Apple Ads Advanced charges per tap, gives keyword and audience control, covers all four placements and has no budget cap. [Maximize Conversions](https://ads.apple.com/app-store/help/campaigns/0095-maximize-conversions), available to all advertisers from February 2026, lets Apple bid toward a target cost per install in search results, but you cannot manage keyword bids in those campaigns. Apple's attribution uses its AdServices API, and Apple notes that SKAdNetwork is now called AdAttributionKit.

In their words: an indie developer, Matt Corey, wrote that Apple Ads "felt like a black hole, with expensive clicks, limited reach" ([Substack](https://mattcorey.substack.com/p/rethinking-my-indie-app-advertising)). Agency Moburst noted in September 2026 that Sports and Finance are among the most expensive categories, often above $6 per tap ([Moburst](https://www.moburst.com/blog/app-store-search-ads/)).

The manual way it replaces: nothing; this is the platform. Tools and agents run it for you.

Pitfall: reach is limited to App Store search demand, and expensive categories can burn small budgets fast.

Who it is not for: Android-only apps.

Get the most from it: send ad groups to matching custom product pages and feed converting keywords back into your listing. Our guides to [Apple Ads Basic vs Advanced](https://superapp.dev/blog/apple-ads-basic-vs-advanced-2026) and the [best Apple Ads tools](https://superapp.dev/blog/best-apple-ads-tools) go deeper.

Best for: every iOS app.

### 3. Google App campaigns: best for Android and cross-platform reach

Kind: intent and discovery.

[Google App campaigns](https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/6247380) run one campaign across Google Search, Google Play, YouTube, the Display Network and Discover, including AdMob inventory inside other apps. You provide text, images and video, and Google says "Google Ads will test different ad combinations and serve the best-performing ads." Campaigns come in three types: installs, engagement for existing users and pre-registration. You bid to a target cost per install, cost per action or return on ad spend, and Google made [target ROAS available globally on iOS](https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/16290177?hl=en) in 2025. On iOS, Google recommends a SKAdNetwork-oriented setup and on-device conversion measurement, and consolidating iOS install campaigns to eight or fewer.

Budget: Google's [best practices](https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/14104492?hl=en) say that for install campaigns bidding on target CPI, "the budget should be at least 50 times the bid."

In their words: RevenueCat's growth team noted Google App campaigns give "No keyword reporting" and that Google's algorithm decides placements, keywords, audiences and budget allocation ([RevenueCat](https://www.revenuecat.com/blog/company/enhanced-app-campaigns-google-ads.md)).

The manual way it replaces: separate campaigns per Google surface.

Pitfall: little control or reporting on where ads ran, and the 50 times budget rule is heavy for small apps.

Who it is not for: teams that need keyword or placement control.

Get the most from it: give Google a wide range of video and image assets and optimize for an in-app action as soon as you have enough volume.

Best for: Android apps and cross-platform apps that want one broad campaign.

### 4. Meta app campaigns: best for consumer and subscription apps

Kind: discovery.

Meta's [Advantage+ app campaigns](https://developers.facebook.com/docs/app-ads/advantage-app-campaigns) optimize for installs or for "maximum total purchase value", using standard app events such as purchases. Meta's developer docs describe them as a way to "drive more results for your app install ads". Since May 2025, the separate Advantage+ choice has merged into one app campaign setup that becomes Advantage+ when you use automatic budget, audience and placements. Billing is by impressions in an auction, operating system targeting is not supported in Advantage+ app campaigns, and iOS campaigns run through SKAdNetwork for iOS 14.5 and later. At Advertising Week in October 2026, Meta began testing agentic campaign setup in its AI business assistant.

Budget: minimums vary by account and currency and appear in Ads Manager.

In their words: Adapty's team warned in June 2026 that "30-60% of iOS conversions can be invisible to Meta's attribution" ([Adapty](https://adapty.io/blog/markdown/meta-ads-subscription-apps.md)).

The manual way it replaces: building interest audiences and placements by hand.

Pitfall: iOS measurement is partial, and manual controls keep shrinking.

Who it is not for: apps without a steady supply of new creative.

Get the most from it: feed it many creative variations and optimize for a purchase or subscription event, not installs, once you have volume.

Best for: consumer, subscription and social apps with strong creative.

### 5. TikTok Ads: best for short-form video and creator-style ads

Kind: discovery.

TikTok's [Smart+ app campaigns](https://ads.tiktok.com/help/article/about-smart-plus-app-campaigns?lang=en) optimize for installs or in-app events, and on Android also for value. On iOS, Smart+ runs on TikTok and Lemon8 only, while Android uses automatic placement including the TikTok Ad Network, the renamed Pangle, which [opened to US advertisers](https://digiday.com/marketing/tiktoks-ad-network-bet-more-reach-more-budget/) in October 2026 and covers nearly 400,000 apps. TikTok's David Kaufman said in October 2025: "TikTok is building automation you can customize and trust." ([TikTok Newsroom](https://newsroom.tiktok.com/tiktok-announces-new-automation-updates-for-advertisers?lang=en)). Pricing options include oCPM, CPC, CPM and CPV, and TikTok supports SKAN 4.0 for iOS.

Budget: [TikTok's help center](https://ads.tiktok.com/help/article/budget) says campaign daily budgets must exceed $50 and ad group daily budgets must exceed $20.

In their words: creative analytics company Segwise warned that on TikTok "repetitive ads often lose traction after just a few days" ([Segwise](https://segwise.ai/blog/overcome-tiktok-creative-fatigue.md)). An agency told Digiday it wants "guardrails around the types of apps we can control." in the TikTok Ad Network.

The manual way it replaces: filming and posting ads with no automated testing.

Pitfall: creative fatigue is fast, so you need a constant flow of new videos.

Who it is not for: apps with no video creative.

Get the most from it: treat creators as your creative team; native-looking videos beat polished ads.

Best for: entertainment, lifestyle, social and visually demonstrable apps.

### 6. AppLovin Ads: best for mobile games at scale

Kind: performance network.

AppLovin opened its self-serve platform, now called [AppLovin Ads](https://www.applovin.com/en/blog/applovin-ads-now-open), to all businesses on June 22, 2026, and says "Axon remains the name of our AI recommendation system." AppLovin says "Any business can sign up and reach our billion-plus daily active users." Advertisers set a target ROAS or a cost per purchaser, and AppLovin reported Q1 2026 revenue of $1.84 billion, up 59%, [according to PPC Land](https://ppc.land/applovins-1-84b-q1-beats-guidance-as-axon-platform-opens-to-all-in-june/).

Budget: no official minimum is published.

In their words: AdExchanger reported in August 2026 that "the ads are still largely served in gaming apps" ([AdExchanger](https://www.adexchanger.com/the-big-story/applovins-play-to-reach-non-gaming-advertisers/)).

The manual way it replaces: negotiating with ad networks one by one.

Pitfall: inventory is mostly games, which suits game advertisers better than utility or subscription apps.

Who it is not for: apps without post-install revenue data to optimize toward.

Get the most from it: send purchase or revenue events through your MMP so Axon can optimize for value.

Best for: mobile games and, increasingly, consumer apps with clear revenue events.

### 7. Moloco: best machine-learning DSP for deeper-funnel goals

Kind: DSP.

[Moloco Ads](https://www.moloco.com/products/moloco-ads) buys programmatically across exchanges with its own machine learning, and Moloco puts its reach at 2B+ "daily active users can be reached by Moloco Ads." Most spend optimizes for in-app actions and ROAS rather than installs. You can self-serve through Moloco Ads Manager by connecting your MMP, uploading creative and setting a budget, and Moloco added performance CTV for app marketers in April 2026.

Budget: Moloco states "The current minimum for new Moloco Ads campaigns is $300 per day".

In their words: G2 reviewers describe a steep learning curve and difficulty validating performance at a granular level, according to a summary of G2 reviews; Moloco has only 15 reviews there.

The manual way it replaces: bidding on exchanges with your own data science team.

Pitfall: the $300 a day floor and the need for clean MMP data.

Who it is not for: apps without meaningful conversion volume.

Get the most from it: optimize for a deep event, like purchase or day-7 retention, rather than installs.

Best for: growth teams with solid data that want scale beyond Meta and Google.

### 8. Liftoff: best for re-engagement and mobile-first acquisition

Kind: DSP and network.

[Liftoff](https://liftoff.ai/accelerate/) runs Liftoff Accelerate for acquisition and re-engagement on its Cortex engine, with supply from Liftoff Monetize and Vungle. It says you can "directly optimize for any type of KPI (CPC, CPI, CPA, ROAS, pLTV)". Liftoff listed on Nasdaq in June 2026, and its filing reported an SDK in more than 160,000 apps.

Budget: no official minimum is published; buying is mostly managed by Liftoff's teams.

In their words: PPC Land noted that Liftoff's IPO filing acknowledged a material weakness in internal financial controls and that its performance claims cannot be verified from public information ([PPC Land](https://ppc.land/liftoff-prices-ipo-at-23-and-surges-past-30-on-nasdaq-debut/)).

The manual way it replaces: separate retargeting vendors.

Pitfall: less self-serve control than Moloco or AppLovin.

Who it is not for: small apps that want to run campaigns themselves.

Get the most from it: use it to bring back lapsed users once you have a large installed base.

Best for: games and mobile-first businesses with re-engagement needs.

### 9. Unity Ads: best in-game network for mobile games

Kind: performance network.

[Unity Ads](https://unity.com/products/unity-ads) serves ads inside games built with Unity, powered by Vector, which Unity calls a "self-learning AI model built to give marketers precision targeting". It offers install, event, ROAS and creative-testing campaigns. In 2026 Unity closed the direct demand side of [ironSource Ads](https://unity.com/products/ironsource-ads-sunset) on April 30 and moved advertisers to Unity Ads. Its ads segment grew 35% in Q2 2026, per Unity's [results](https://s205.q4cdn.com/200788659/files/doc_news/Unity-Reports-Second-Quarter-2026-Financial-Results-2026.pdf).

In their words: Naavik wrote in April 2026 that "AppLovin still retains a clear lead" in mobile game ads ([Naavik](https://naavik.co/digest/unitys-ad-driven-turnaround/)).

The manual way it replaces: buying game inventory through separate networks.

Pitfall: much less useful outside games.

Who it is not for: non-gaming apps.

Get the most from it: use playable and rewarded video formats, which fit in-game placements.

Best for: mobile games.

### 10. Snapchat Ads: best for young audiences

Kind: discovery.

Snapchat runs app install and re-engagement ads between Stories, in Spotlight and the Discover feed, with Sponsored Snaps in the chat feed since 2025. Its [Marketing API](https://developers.snap.com/api/marketing-api/Ads-API/ad-squads) lists app goals from installs to purchases and sign-ups, and Snap's Smart Campaign Solutions add automated bidding and budgets. Snap's pitch: "Work smarter, not harder with Snapchat Smart Campaign Solutions." ([Snap](https://newsroom.snap.com/say-it-in-a-snap-newfronts-2025)).

Budget: the minimum ad squad daily budget is 5 units of your account currency, such as $5.

In their words: analytics company Dataslayer noted that "Snapchat tests your uploaded variations but doesn't create new creative." ([Dataslayer](https://www.dataslayer.ai/blog/snapchat-smart-campaign-solutions-2026-smart-ads-smart-bidding-smart-budget)).

The manual way it replaces: manual bid and budget management on Snap.

Pitfall: audience fit; it is strongest for younger users.

Who it is not for: apps aimed at older or professional audiences.

Get the most from it: make full-screen vertical videos with the hook in the first second.

Best for: social, lifestyle and entertainment apps for younger users.

### 11. Reddit Ads: best for niche communities

Kind: discovery.

Reddit lets you target app ads to communities and interests. In May 2026 it made app event optimization [generally available](https://www.emarketer.com/content/reddit-pushes-performance-marketing-with-new-ad-updates) and put Max campaigns and Dual Attribution for app advertisers into beta, and it supports SKAdNetwork reporting for post-install events. Reddit's Jyoti Vaidee told PPC Land: "New advertisers are coming to Reddit each day." ([PPC Land](https://ppc.land/reddit-rolls-out-dual-attribution-and-max-campaigns-for-app-advertisers/)).

Budget: PPC Land reported a $5 ad group and $100 campaign minimum in 2023; we could not confirm current figures on Reddit's own help pages.

In their words: indie developer Matt Corey reported a Reddit cost per acquisition of "$0.82 (~5.3x lower)" than his Apple Ads cost in his test ([Substack](https://mattcorey.substack.com/p/rethinking-my-indie-app-advertising)). One test is not a benchmark.

The manual way it replaces: posting in communities and hoping.

Pitfall: some app features are still in beta.

Who it is not for: advertisers who need mature, fully automated app campaigns today.

Get the most from it: target the specific communities where your users already talk about the problem your app solves.

Best for: niche, hobby and enthusiast apps.

### 12. Mintegral: best for game advertisers seeking programmatic scale

Kind: performance network.

[Mintegral](https://www.mintegral.com/en/appgrowth), Mobvista's ad platform, combines its own SDK supply with programmatic traffic and offers CPM and CPI bidding, target ROAS and target CPE, with AI smart bidding behind more than 90% of its revenue. Mobvista says "Mintegral, Mobvista's core advertising platform, remains the Company's growth engine." Mintegral's revenue reached $1.115 billion in the first half of 2026, with games about three quarters of it.

In their words: in 2020 security firm Snyk alleged Mintegral's iOS SDK misreported ad clicks, which Mintegral denied, [The Hacker News reported](https://thehackernews.com/2020/08/ios-sdk-ad-fraud.html). That is history, not a current finding, but worth knowing when you check fraud controls.

The manual way it replaces: manual network buying for hybrid-casual games.

Pitfall: gaming-heavy inventory.

Who it is not for: utility and subscription apps without game-like audiences.

Get the most from it: run it alongside AppLovin and Unity for game launches and compare ROAS by network in your MMP.

Best for: hybrid-casual and in-app-ad games.

### 13. Digital Turbine: best for Android on-device distribution

Kind: on-device.

[Digital Turbine](https://www.digitalturbine.com/advertisers) places apps on devices through carriers and device makers with its Ignite platform and SingleTap installs, plus DT Exchange and an App Growth Platform. It calls itself "the Only Platform with a Direct On-Device Advantage" and says its platform is installed on more than half a billion devices. Fiscal 2026 revenue was $565 million, up 15%.

In their words: a 2021 SamMobile report said a preinstalled Digital Turbine service could install apps without user action ([SamMobile](https://www.sammobile.com/news/seemingly-harmless-ads-installing-secret-apps-galaxy-phone/)), an old report but relevant to install quality.

The manual way it replaces: negotiating preload deals with carriers.

Pitfall: its on-device reach appears to depend on Android carriers and device makers, so it is a weak fit for iOS apps.

Who it is not for: iOS-only apps.

Get the most from it: measure retention closely, since preloaded and one-tap installs can differ in quality.

Best for: Android apps seeking scale beyond Google Play.

### 14. InMobi DSP: best for Asia Pacific performance buying

Kind: DSP.

The [InMobi DSP](https://support.inmobi.com/choice/other-resources/inmobi-dsp-overview) buys mobile in-app inventory across InMobi Exchange and partner exchanges with CPI and ROAS targets, and InMobi bought ASO and Apple Ads tool MobileAction in May 2026.

In their words: InMobi describes its real-time bidding simply: "This process happens in milliseconds." We found no independent review to quote.

The manual way it replaces: separate buying in Asian markets.

Pitfall: little public pricing or independent review data.

Who it is not for: teams that want self-serve transparency.

Get the most from it: test it in markets where it is strong before going global.

Best for: games and apps growing in Asia Pacific.

### 15. Kayzen: best self-serve DSP for in-house teams

Kind: DSP.

[Kayzen](https://kayzen.io/pricing) is a SaaS programmatic DSP for teams that want to run programmatic themselves, with an optional managed service. Its pitch: "Gain full control of your campaigns via Kayzen's Dashboard or API".

Price: Starter $1,250/month including up to $10,000 of media, Pro $5,750/month up to $50,000, and Enterprise $15,000/month up to $150,000, with overage fees.

In their words: Kayzen has almost no independent reviews, with two on G2.

The manual way it replaces: paying a percentage of spend to managed DSPs.

Pitfall: you need in-house programmatic skills.

Who it is not for: small teams new to programmatic.

Get the most from it: bring your own audience data and bidding logic.

Best for: experienced in-house user acquisition teams.

### 16. Smadex: best managed and self-serve mobile DSP alternative

Kind: DSP.

Smadex is a mobile-first programmatic DSP owned by Entravision, still part of the company as of its [June 2026 filing](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001109116/000119312526342382/evc-20260630.htm). A reseller reports dCPM buying with CPA and CPI goals, SKAdNetwork support, and both self-serve and managed options.

Budget: a reseller reports a $5,000 minimum plus a 12% fee; Smadex does not publish one.

In their words: we found no independent review to quote.

The manual way it replaces: direct exchange buying.

Pitfall: pricing information comes only from a reseller.

Who it is not for: teams that want published pricing.

Get the most from it: test it against Moloco on the same events.

Best for: performance teams adding another DSP.

### 17. X Ads: best for news, finance and tech audiences

Kind: discovery.

[X's app installs campaigns](https://business.x.com/en/help/campaign-setup/create-an-app-installs-campaign) show ads in home timelines, profiles, post detail pages and the top of relevant search results, with goals of app installs or app clicks, and X says its ads "Drive app installs and reach users ready to download your app." An approved MMP is required, and X supports SKAdNetwork.

In their words: Marketing Week reported in 2024 Kantar data that "Only 4% of marketers believe X provides brand safety" ([Marketing Week](https://marketingweek.com/marketers-x-brand-safety)).

The manual way it replaces: organic posting only.

Pitfall: brand safety concerns and limited in-app event optimization.

Who it is not for: brand-sensitive advertisers.

Get the most from it: target conversations around news, markets or sports your app serves.

Best for: news, finance, crypto, sports and tech apps.

### 18. Microsoft Advertising: best cheap search add-on

Kind: intent.

[Microsoft Advertising's app install ads](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/advertising/guides/app-install-ads?view=bingads-13) appear in Bing search, "sending customers directly to the applicable store to download the application". They run only in search campaigns, in eight markets including the US, UK, Canada, Australia and India, and only for apps available in the US App Store and Google Play.

In their words: Microsoft's own documentation notes "Not everyone has this feature yet."

The manual way it replaces: nothing; it is a niche extra.

Pitfall: limited markets and reach.

Who it is not for: apps outside the US stores or needing a main channel.

Get the most from it: add it if you already run Bing search ads.

Best for: advertisers already on Microsoft Advertising.

Also considered: Pinterest says it removed mobile app install ads, though it still tracks app events through its Conversions API. ironSource Ads closed its direct demand in April 2026 and moved to Unity Ads. Chartboost is now part of LoopMe and focused on publishers. Google AdMob is inventory you reach through Google App campaigns, not something you buy on its own. Spiral, whose guide ranks well for this topic, is a creative platform for app ads rather than an ad platform: "Spiral is a creative AI platform for mobile app growth teams," with plans from $175/month ([Spiral](https://spiral.ad)).

## How Do You Measure App Advertising? Attribution Platforms Compared

Ad platforms report their own results, and each counts installs differently. A mobile measurement partner, or MMP, sits in the middle and tells you which platform actually produced installs, subscribers and revenue. On iOS, much of this data now comes through Apple's privacy-preserving AdAttributionKit, which Apple says is the new name for SKAdNetwork.

| Measurement option | What it does | Price |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Superapp Selfdrive reporting | Daily email with downloads, Apple Ads spend and results, using App Store Connect analytics | Included in the $100/month Max plan |
| Apple Ads attribution | Apple's AdServices API attributes Apple Ads installs; data retained up to 21 days | Free |
| AdAttributionKit | Apple's privacy-preserving attribution across ad networks | Free, part of iOS |
| AppsFlyer | MMP with attribution, deep linking, fraud protection and an agentic AI suite | Free Zero plan for owned media; $0.07 per conversion after 12,000 free in year one |
| Adjust | MMP with attribution, analytics and incrementality | Free start up to 1,500 monthly conversions in year one; higher tiers by sales |
| Singular | MMP with attribution plus cost aggregation and ROI reporting | Free up to 15,000 paid conversions; Growth $0.05 per conversion |
| Branch | Deep linking plus attribution, strong for web to app | Free trial on Basics; other plans by sales |

[Singular's pricing page](https://www.singular.net/pricing/) lists a free plan up to 15,000 paid conversions, then $0.05 per conversion. [AppsFlyer's pricing](https://www.appsflyer.com/pricing/) notes its free Zero plan is "Not suitable for apps with paid activities." AppsFlyer raised more than $1 billion in June 2026 from investors including Moloco, Google, Meta and Unity, [InvestGame reported](https://investgame.net/news/appsflyer-over-1b-series-e-from-google-meta-moloco-and-unity/). [Adjust's pricing](https://www.adjust.com/pricing/) starts free for small apps, and [Branch](https://www.branch.io/pricing/) caps its free Basics plan at three ad partners.

Do you need one? If Apple Ads is your only paid channel, Apple's own attribution and App Store Connect analytics may be enough. Once you run two or more paid platforms, an MMP is how you stop each platform from claiming the same install.

## How Each Platform Handles iOS Measurement

| Platform | iOS measurement |
| --- | --- |
| Superapp Selfdrive | Reports from App Store Connect analytics and Apple Ads |

| TikTok Ads | SKAN 4.0 support; Smart+ for eligible iOS real-time reporting |
| Snapchat Ads | SKAdNetwork-enrolled ad squads; some re-engagement goals unavailable for them |
| Reddit Ads | SKAdNetwork reporting for post-install events |
| X Ads | Approved MMP required; supports SKAdNetwork |
| AppLovin, Moloco, Liftoff, Unity | Measured through your MMP and SKAdNetwork or AdAttributionKit postbacks |

| --- | --- | --- |
| Non-gaming iOS app, any category | Superapp Selfdrive or Apple Ads, then Meta or TikTok | Google App campaigns on iOS, Moloco once you have data |

| Utility or productivity app | Apple Ads, Google | Reddit for niche audiences, Microsoft Advertising |
| Social or lifestyle app | TikTok, Meta, Snapchat | Reddit, creator campaigns |
| Casual or hybrid-casual game | AppLovin Ads, Unity Ads, Google | Mintegral, TikTok Ad Network, Liftoff |

| Over $20,000 | Add Moloco, AppLovin Ads or Liftoff | Moloco's $300 a day floor is about $9,000 a month |

## How Much Should You Spend on App Advertising?

Start from what a user is worth, not from what a platform allows. Divide the revenue you expect from a user by the margin you need, and that is the most you can pay to acquire them. Then check each platform's minimum against that number.

Two examples, using official rules. If your target cost per install on Google is $2, Google's guidance of at least 50 times the bid means a daily budget of at least $100. If you test TikTok, each campaign needs more than $50 a day and each ad group more than $20. On Moloco, the $300 a day minimum is about $9,000 a month before you learn anything. On Apple Ads there is no minimum, which is why it is usually the first paid channel for iOS apps.

Revenue per install matters as much as cost per install. RevenueCat's [State of Subscription Apps 2026](https://www.revenuecat.com/state-of-subscription-apps/) reports a 10.7% median download-to-paid rate for hard paywall apps versus 2.1% for freemium, so the same ad budget can be profitable or not depending on your paywall.

## A 30-Day App Advertising Test Plan

| Week | What to do | Platforms |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Week 1 | Fix your App Store listing and paywall; turn on Superapp Selfdrive or Apple Ads with a small budget; set up campaign links | Superapp Selfdrive or Apple Ads, App Store Connect |
| Week 2 | Add one discovery platform with three to five creative concepts; keep budgets above each minimum | Meta or TikTok |
| Week 3 | Compare cost per paying user, not cost per install; cut the weakest ads and keywords | All active platforms |
| Week 4 | Move budget to the platform producing paying users; add an MMP if you run two or more paid platforms | AppsFlyer, Adjust or Singular |

## Common Mistakes in App Advertising

- Judging platforms by cost per install instead of cost per paying or retained user.
 - Spreading a small budget across many platforms so none has enough data to learn.
 - Running ads before the App Store listing and paywall convert.
 - Ignoring minimums: TikTok campaigns need more than $50 a day, and Google recommends 50 times your target CPI.
 - Trusting each platform's own install count when you run several; use an MMP.
 - Letting creative go stale on Meta and TikTok.
 - Starting with programmatic DSPs before you have conversion data.
 - Expecting automation to fix a weak offer; it scales whatever you give it.

## How Does ChatGPT Answer App Advertising Questions?

We asked ChatGPT three app advertising questions on October 25, 2026, with US web search, and recorded its searches and sources.

| Question asked | ChatGPT's searches | Main sources cited |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Best mobile app marketing platforms | Best mobile app marketing platforms 2026 app install advertising platforms official; attribution official AppsFlyer Adjust Singular Branch; best app user acquisition ad networks 2026 official | A Spiral guide to app advertising platforms, itechguides, gaugius, Adjust, Singular, Twilio |
| What are the best app advertising platforms in 2026? | 2026 best mobile app advertising platforms with Google Ads, Apple Search Ads, Meta, TikTok, Unity and AppLovin; 2026 benchmark user acquisition AppLovin Unity Liftoff Moloco; official Google, Apple, Meta and TikTok pages | AppsFlyer Performance Index, Tenjin, AppsFlyer benchmarks |
| Where should I advertise my iOS app to get users? | Official Apple Search Ads, Google App campaigns for iOS, Meta app ads for iOS, TikTok app promotion for iOS | Apple developer docs, TikTok Ads help, Google Ads help |

ChatGPT builds these answers from a few roundups and benchmark reports, then checks platforms' official pages. That is why this guide links every budget rule to the platform's own help page, and covers attribution alongside the ad platforms.

## How We Chose and Ranked These Platforms

We started from the platforms ChatGPT names for app advertising questions, added the performance networks, DSPs and measurement partners app teams use in 2026, and checked placements, campaign types, budget rules and pricing on each platform's official pages on October 25, 2026. Where a platform publishes no minimum, we say so instead of estimating, and we label third-party and reseller figures. Limitations come from practitioners, trade press and review sites. We ranked for an iOS founder or small team, weighing intent, cost to start, control and measurement. Superapp Selfdrive is our own product and has no independent reviews yet.

## Frequently Asked Questions

**What are the best app advertising platforms in 2026?**
For iOS founders who want ads run for them, Superapp Selfdrive, whose agents manage Apple Ads within your budget. For buying ads yourself, Apple Ads and Google App campaigns for intent, Meta and TikTok for discovery, and AppLovin, Moloco and Liftoff for scale once you have conversion data.

**What are the best mobile app marketing platforms?**
The core platforms are Apple Ads, Google App campaigns, Meta and TikTok, plus a measurement partner such as AppsFlyer, Adjust or Singular. Superapp Selfdrive adds agents that run Apple Ads, ASO, a website and creator campaigns for iOS apps.

**What is the best platform to advertise an iOS app?**
Apple Ads, because it shows ads where people search the App Store. Superapp Selfdrive can run Apple Ads for you and use the results to improve your listing.

**What is the best platform to advertise an Android app?**
Google App campaigns, which reach Google Play, Search, YouTube and the Display Network in one campaign. Meta, TikTok, AppLovin and Digital Turbine add reach on Android.

**What is the cheapest way to advertise an app?**
Apple Ads has no minimum budget, Snapchat's minimum is about $5 a day per ad squad, and Reddit has been reported at $5 per ad group. Cheap installs are not the goal; cheap paying users are.

**How much does it cost to advertise an app?**
It depends on the platform and category. Google recommends a daily budget of at least 50 times your target cost per install, TikTok requires more than $50 a day per campaign, Moloco requires $300 a day, and Apple Ads has no minimum.

**What is the minimum budget for Google App campaigns?**
Google does not set a hard minimum but recommends a daily budget of at least 50 times your target CPI for install campaigns, 10 times your target CPA for install campaigns with in-app actions, and 15 times your target CPA for engagement campaigns.

**What is the minimum budget for TikTok app ads?**
TikTok's help center says campaign daily budgets must exceed $50 and ad group daily budgets must exceed $20.

**What is the minimum budget for Apple Ads?**
There is no minimum. Apple Ads Basic allows up to $10,000 per app per month, and Advanced has no cap.

**Is Apple Ads Basic or Advanced better?**
Basic is simpler: you pay per install and Apple chooses keywords, but you see no keyword data. Advanced charges per tap and gives keyword control across four placements. Superapp Selfdrive runs Apple Ads for you if you want control without the daily work.

**Should I use Meta or TikTok for app installs?**
Meta suits subscription and consumer apps with many creative variations and purchase events. TikTok suits apps that show well in short video. Many apps test both with a few concepts each.

**Are Meta Advantage+ app campaigns worth it?**
For most consumer apps, yes, because Meta now merges Advantage+ into the standard app campaign setup. The trade-off is less manual control and partial iOS measurement.

**What is AppLovin Ads?**
AppLovin's self-serve ad platform, opened to all businesses on June 22, 2026, using its Axon AI recommendation system to reach a billion-plus daily users, mostly in games.

**Is AppLovin good for non-gaming apps?**
It is expanding beyond games, but AdExchanger reported in August 2026 that its ads are still largely served in gaming apps. Non-gaming apps should test it after Apple Ads, Google and Meta.

**What is Moloco?**
A machine-learning DSP that buys ads across exchanges, optimizing for in-app actions and ROAS. Its minimum for new campaigns is $300 a day.

**What is Liftoff?**
A mobile ad platform for acquisition and re-engagement, built on its Cortex engine with Vungle supply. It listed on Nasdaq in June 2026.

**What happened to ironSource Ads?**
Unity closed ironSource Ads' direct demand business on April 30, 2026 and moved advertisers to Unity Ads, powered by its Vector AI model.

**What happened to Pangle?**
It was renamed TikTok Ad Network and opened to US advertisers in October 2026. You buy it as a placement inside TikTok Ads Manager.

**Can I advertise my app on Pinterest?**
Pinterest says it removed mobile app install ads, though it still tracks app installs and opens through its Conversions API. Agencies run app campaigns through its conversions objective with an MMP.

**Is Reddit good for app advertising?**
It can be for niche apps whose users gather in communities. Reddit made app event optimization generally available in May 2026, while Max campaigns for apps remain in beta.

**What is the best ad network for mobile games?**
AppLovin Ads and Unity Ads have the largest in-game inventory, with Mintegral, the TikTok Ad Network, Liftoff and Moloco as strong additions.

**Do I need an MMP for app advertising?**
If Apple Ads is your only paid channel, Apple's attribution and App Store Connect may be enough. Once you run two or more paid platforms, use an MMP such as AppsFlyer, Adjust, Singular or Branch.

**Which MMP has the best free plan?**
Singular is free up to 15,000 paid conversions. AppsFlyer's free Zero plan is not for paid campaigns, and Adjust starts free up to 1,500 monthly conversions in the first year.

**What is AdAttributionKit?**
Apple's privacy-preserving ad attribution framework, which Apple says is the new name for SKAdNetwork. Ad platforms and MMPs use it to measure iOS installs without tracking individuals.

**How does ATT affect app advertising?**
Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt limits user-level tracking on iOS, so platforms rely on SKAdNetwork or AdAttributionKit and modeled conversions. Meta's attribution can miss a large share of iOS conversions, according to Adapty.

**Which app advertising platforms use AI?**
Nearly all. Meta Advantage+, TikTok Smart+, Google App campaigns, Apple's Maximize Conversions, AppLovin's Axon, Moloco, Liftoff's Cortex and Unity's Vector all automate bidding. Superapp Selfdrive goes further by running Apple Ads campaigns for you.

**Can an AI agent run my app ads?**
Yes. Superapp Selfdrive runs Apple Ads within your budget with approval on public changes. Other agents run Meta and Google ads; our AI marketing agents guide compares them.

**Does Superapp Selfdrive run Meta, Google or TikTok ads?**
No. Selfdrive's paid channel is Apple Ads. Its other agents handle App Store optimization, your app's website and SEO, and creator campaigns.

**How much does Superapp Selfdrive cost?**
It is included in Superapp's Max plan at $100/month with 230 credits. Apple bills ad spend to your own Apple Ads account, and Selfdrive is in beta for selected accounts.

**Does Superapp Selfdrive work for apps not built on Superapp?**
Yes. It works with any existing App Store app you own, connected by its App Store link or App Store Connect.

**Which platform should I start with for a new iOS app?**
Apple Ads, run yourself or by Superapp Selfdrive, then one discovery platform such as Meta or TikTok once your App Store listing converts.

**How many ad platforms should a small app use?**
Two or three at most. Each platform needs enough conversions to learn, so a small budget split across many platforms usually performs worse than a focused one.

**How long should I test an app ad platform?**
Long enough to see paying or retained users, not just installs, which is usually two to four weeks at a budget above the platform's minimum.

**What is a good cost per install?**
It varies by category, country and platform, so compare against what a user is worth to you. Agency Moburst reports Sports and Finance Apple Ads taps are often above $6.

**What is the difference between an ad network and a DSP?**
An ad network sells ad space from its own set of apps, like AppLovin or Unity. A DSP buys across many exchanges in real time, like Moloco or Kayzen.

**What is Digital Turbine?**
An on-device platform that places apps on phones through carriers and device makers, mainly on Android, plus an ad exchange and app growth platform.

**Is X good for app advertising?**
It can work for news, finance, sports and tech apps, with app install and re-engagement campaigns. Brand safety is a concern for many marketers, according to Kantar data from 2024.

**Can I advertise my app on Bing?**
Yes. Microsoft Advertising offers app install ads in Bing search in eight markets, for apps available in the US App Store and Google Play.

**What is Spiral?**
Spiral is a creative AI platform for app ads, covering competitor ad research, AI ad generation, UGC and launching Meta campaigns, with plans from $175/month. It helps make ads; it is not an ad platform itself.

**How do I know which ad platform is working?**
Compare cost per paying or retained user across platforms using one source of truth, such as an MMP or App Store Connect campaign links, rather than each platform's own reports.
