Bubble Pricing (Nov 2026): Plans, Workload and Real Cost

Every Bubble plan for web, mobile and both after the October 2026 price change, how workload units and overages work, what AI credits cost, the bills real users report, and how Bubble compares to Superapp, Lovable and Base44.

Bubble Pricing: The Short Answer

Bubble has a free plan and three self-serve paid plans, Starter, Growth and Team, sold per project and per platform: web only, mobile only, or web plus mobile. Web plans cost $32, $119 and $349 a month billed annually, or $39, $134 and $399 billed monthly, after Bubble raised the Starter price on October 20, 2026. On top of the plan, every app runs on workload units: each database search, workflow and API call uses some, and when you use more than your plan includes, Bubble either charges overage or takes your app offline. Below you will find every plan, what workload units really cost, the bills real users report, and how Bubble's pricing compares to Superapp, Lovable and Base44.

Quick answer: how much does Bubble cost? As of November 2026, Bubble is free to build on, and a web app costs $32 a month on Starter, $119 on Growth or $349 on Team, billed annually ($39, $134 and $399 monthly). Mobile-only plans cost $42, $169 and $449 a month billed annually, and web plus mobile $59, $209 and $549. Each plan includes 175,000 to 500,000 workload units a month; extra usage costs $0.30 per 1,000 units, or your app goes offline if overages are off. Plans are per project, and AI credits now come with every plan. For a native iPhone app on one flat plan, a native-Swift builder like Superapp is the simpler bill.

Prices below were checked on November 4, 2026 against the Bubble pricing page, the Bubble manual and the pricing FAQ. User stories come from the Bubble forum and Trustpilot.

How much does each Bubble plan cost?

Bubble prices each project separately, and each project picks a platform: web, mobile, or both.

Plan Web only, yearly / monthly Mobile only, yearly / monthly Web + mobile, yearly / monthly Workload units a month Built for
Free $0 $0 $0 50,000 Learning and building
Starter $32 / $39 $42 / $49 $59 / $69 175,000 A first live app

How do Bubble workload units work?

Workload units (WU) measure the server work Bubble does to run your app. Database operations, workflows and web interactions all use them, and frequent API requests can use a lot in one go. Work that happens in the user's browser does not (Bubble: workload explained). Web and mobile apps in the same project share one allowance, and the count resets each month.

When an app goes past its allowance, one of two things happens (pricing FAQ):

  • With overages on, the app keeps running and Bubble charges $0.30 per 1,000 extra workload units.
  • With overages off, the app is taken offline. It comes back if you turn overages on, buy a workload tier, or wait for the next billing period.

Bubble emails you at 75% and 100% of your allowance, and you can set custom alerts. You can also buy workload tiers, prepaid blocks of extra WU at a lower rate than overage, on Starter, Growth and Team.

That choice is the single most important billing decision on Bubble: overages on means an open-ended bill; overages off means your app can go down.

What does a workload unit cost?

At the overage rate, $0.30 per 1,000 WU works out to $300 per million. Applied to the amounts users report (our arithmetic):

What happened Workload units Cost at the overage rate
Starter's whole monthly allowance 175,000 $52.50 of usage, included in $32
One million extra units 1,000,000 $300
A runaway database trigger (muellerme, January 2025) About 2,200,000 About $660; she reported about $676
A looping workflow over one night (mitchbaylis, November 2023) About 7,000,000 About $2,100 at today's rate; he reported a $1,000 auto-charge

Sources: Bubble pricing FAQ, $650 Workload Overages, 7 million workload units. The users' reported bills may reflect workload tiers or the rates of the time.

Workload tiers lower the rate. Bubble's own example pairs Starter with WU Tier 3 at $299 a month (Bubble). Forum users have cited Tier 2 at $99 a month for 750,000 extra units and an Enterprise tier at $1,499 a month for 20 million units; those figures come from users, not Bubble's pricing page.

What does Bubble really charge for beyond the plan price?

Hidden cost What it is Who pays it How to limit it
Workload overage Usage above the allowance at $0.30 per 1,000 WU Apps with traffic or heavy workflows Optimize workflows; buy a tier if usage is steady
App offline With overages off, the app stops at the allowance Anyone protecting their budget Set alerts and a tier as a buffer
Runaway workflows Recursive workflows and data triggers can burn millions of WU Apps with backend logic Add loop counters; test on small data
Per-project plans Every project needs its own plan Builders with several apps Keep side projects on Free until launch
Mobile as a separate plan Mobile costs extra on top of web, or as a bundle Anyone adding iOS or Android Price the web plus mobile bundle up front
AI credits 500 to 4,000 a month; packs from $10 Builders using Bubble's AI Build manually where AI is slow or wrong
Editor seats and logs More editors and longer logs need higher plans Teams Plan the tier by team size, not just traffic
Trial conversion Starter trials convert to paid unless cancelled New users Cancel before day 14 if you are not staying
Outside services Apple, Google, plugins, external databases Apps that publish or integrate Add them to the budget

The sections below cover each, with what Bubble's documentation says and what users report.

What are real users paying on Bubble?

Bubble is rated 3.1 out of 5 from 170 reviews on Trustpilot, with 60% one-star, as of November 2026, and its own forum hosts long debates about pricing. The stories below are self-reported and selected for cost, so they over-represent problems.

User and source When What they report In their words
mitchbaylis, Bubble forum November 2023 A looping workflow used about 7 million WU in under 12 hours; a $1,000 auto-charge "I made a mistake. I knew this day would come eventually."
muellerme, Bubble forum January 2025 A data trigger used about 2.2 million WU; about $676 "I have royally messed up one of my backend workflows."
Anthony C, Trustpilot October 2026 A customer since 2021 paying thousands a year, facing outages "paying thousands annually for a platform our business relies on daily."
Kirsten Lunoe, Trustpilot October 2026 $200 a month, with slow support "What am I paying $200 per month for????"
code-escapee, Bubble forum December 2024 Moved scheduling to n8n for about $100, cutting 14.5 million WU "the WU were reduced by 14 and 1/2 million units"
w.fly, Bubble forum December 2024 Pays about $36,000 a month to programmers working on Bubble Paraphrased: would pay more for server choice and exportable code
Harley Cummins, Trustpilot January 2026 A $50 charge a year after cancelling; refund refused "there's a $50 charge against my credit card despite cancelling"
Lisbet, Trustpilot November 2025 Did not realize $49 covered one project without AI "the price was $49 for ONE project only"
Mitch TH, Trustpilot February 2026 Compares Bubble to a $5 server running dozens of apps "The new pricing model is both confusing and exorbitant."
Dtp Brown, Trustpilot October 2026 Each new capability meant paying more "you need to pay up more money"
Juan Cadavid, Trustpilot September 2026 A long-time user in Colombia "I suggest to have lower monthly fees for this kind of regions."
adamhholmes, Bubble forum December 2024 Data and backend costs higher than competitors "objectively expensive compared to alternatives"

Sources: Bubble forum: 7 million WU, $650 overages, Is Bubble pricing unsustainable?, Trustpilot, page 2.

The forum also hosts strong defenders. J805 argued that workload pricing "just makes you build more efficiently," and rpetribu wrote that "charging based on how much the server is being used seems fair," while asking for better documentation. jonah.deleseleuc said pricing was not getting in the way of MVP work for his clients at all.

Why do Bubble bills spike?

Pattern What happens What users report Fix
Recursive workflows A loop keeps creating or updating records 7 million WU overnight Add a counter and a hard stop to every recursive workflow
Database triggers Triggers re-run on every changed field 2.2 million WU from one trigger Prefer scheduled or API workflows for bulk updates
Bulk imports Thousands of rows processed on the server Imports driving overage Clean data before importing
Heavy searches on page load Dashboards query the database every visit WU climbing with traffic Cache results; load data on demand
Frequent API calls Each call can use a lot of WU Integrations driving usage Batch calls; move heavy jobs elsewhere
Traffic growth More users means more server work Costs rising with success Budget a workload tier before launch

Bubble's forum regulars offer the most practical advice. mitchbaylis, after his own overnight bill, recommended avoiding data triggers for bulk changes, and noted that a trigger on a type with many fields can evaluate many times per change. ksplinter007 described a counter field on a developer account that increments on each backend workflow, a cheap tripwire for runaway loops.

Do you pay when a workflow goes wrong?

Usually yes. Workload used is billed whether it was intended or not. Bubble has offered courtesy credits for mistakes, but users report it as a one-time gesture: after his overnight loop, mitchbaylis said support sent a reply refusing a credit because the courtesy is a one-time offer per account owner (forum thread).

The community is split on whether that is fair. code-escapee called it "indefensible to roll out the whole WU model without basic controls," and georgecollier asked Bubble to let users say: "Notify me if use more than X WU and stop billing at Y WU." jared.gibb took the other side, arguing that the overage switch already lets you stop billing and that users should expect to pay for what they run.

The practical lesson is to decide your overage setting before you launch, not after the first bill. If you leave overages on, set custom alerts well below your allowance. If you turn them off, accept that a spike can take your app offline until you act.

How a $32 month turns into $300: three illustrations

These are illustrations built from Bubble's published prices and overage rate, not records of a specific account.

The side project. A founder runs a small directory on web Starter. Traffic is light, searches are simple, and usage stays under 175,000 WU. Total: $32 a month billed annually.

The growing app. The same app gets featured and traffic triples. Dashboards that search the database on every visit push usage to 500,000 WU. With overages on, the extra 325,000 WU cost about $97.50. Total: about $130, and the founder starts pricing a workload tier or a move to Growth.

The bad deploy. A new backend workflow loops overnight and uses 1 million WU before anyone notices. At the overage rate, that is $300 on top of the plan. Total: about $330 for the month, for usage nobody wanted.

The difference is not the plan. It is how your workflows touch the database, and whether a loop has a stop.

How much does Bubble cost for mobile apps?

Superapp's $25 Pro plan builds a native Swift iPhone app and includes automated App Store publishing; Bubble charges for mobile as its own plan, on top of or bundled with web. Bubble's mobile-only plans cost $42, $169 and $449 a month billed annually, and web plus mobile bundles cost $59, $209 and $549 (Bubble manual).

Mobile plans also limit how often you can ship:

Limit Starter Growth Team
Builds a month, first 3 months 10 15 25
Builds a month, after that 5 10 20
Live app versions 3 5 8

Failed builds and builds required by Bubble's own native updates do not count. If you remove a mobile plan, live mobile versions pause, and after 14 days you need a new build to restore them. Publishing also requires your own Apple Developer Program membership, $99 a year, and a Google Play Console account, $25 once (Bubble publishing FAQ, Apple).

Bubble's strength here is reach: one project can serve web, iOS and Android. If you only need an iPhone app, a bundle priced for three platforms may be more than you need. For more, see Can Bubble build an iOS app?.

How do Bubble AI credits work?

Since October 6, 2026, every Bubble plan includes AI credits for its AI Agent, page generation and image generation: 500 a month on Free, 1,000 on Starter, 2,000 on Growth and 4,000 on Team, with unlimited credits on Enterprise. Generating a new app currently uses no credits. Included credits reset on the 1st of each month and do not roll over (Bubble AI pricing).

Paid plans can buy more:

Pack Price Validity
1,000 credits $10 6 months
2,000 credits $20 6 months
5,000 credits $50 6 months

Credits belong to each app and are shared by everyone working on it. Apps that existed on October 6 got double credits through October 31, 2026 (Bubble blog).

AI quality affects cost. WorkHeroes, a four-star reviewer, said in October 2026 that the AI builder "should cost less since it makes a lot more error," and David GB said the AI claimed to finish tasks that were never set up: "It does not complete any tasks even though it claims is does."

What changed in Bubble's October 2026 pricing?

Bubble launched Agent 2, an MCP server and AI credits on October 6, 2026, and raised web-only Starter from $29 to $32 a month billed annually, and to $39 billed monthly, effective October 20 (Bubble blog). Growth and Team prices did not change.

The forum debate was heated. gabriel15 wrote that "it's practically forbidden to question Bubble's pricing and plan policies." jmfcristo, an agency owner, said "Here, paying annually is quite difficult to afford," and described the increase as "$7 per month per project, even if you don't use AI in production"; Bubble's pricing pages list AI credits as included in each plan rather than as a separate fee. On the other side, senecadatabase said: "It blows my mind when people complain about $3 a month more." (forum thread).

For agencies running many client apps, small per-project increases add up: twenty Starter apps cost $60 more a month on annual billing after the change (our arithmetic).

How has Bubble's pricing changed?

When Change Effect on cost
April 6, 2023 Workload-based plans announced (Free, Starter, Growth, Team); agency plans up about 10% per seat Usage-based server billing replaced capacity
May 1, 2023 New plans available; legacy plans up about 10% Optional switch
October 1, 2024 All apps moved to workload plans Legacy capacity plans ended
2025 Native mobile plans for iOS and Android Mobile priced separately or as a bundle
October 20, 2026 Web Starter to $32 yearly / $39 monthly; AI credits on every plan Small increase, AI metered

Sources: Bubble 2023 pricing update, Bubble manual, Bubble blog: Agent 2.

Under the old capacity plans, apps that exceeded their limit were throttled, not billed; under workload plans, they are billed or taken offline (pricing FAQ). That shift is the root of most pricing debate on the forum since 2023.

Can you get a refund from Bubble?

Bubble's pricing pages and manual do not set out a refund policy, and users report refusals in practice. Ben Conner said he was charged for months after accidental sign-ups and that a refund was denied under policy; Harley Cummins found "a $50 charge against my credit card despite cancelling" a year later; and Parvez V used a 14-day trial for a day, forgot to cancel and said "they ended up charging me," with the refund declined.

Billing complaints in recent reviews:

User When What they report
Alex M August 2026 "auto-pay forever after stopping using the app with no reminders of any kind"
Vladislav Petoukhov August 2026 "charging my rarely used card that is on auto-payment for a year"
Karen Gorantsyan March 2026 Charged seven times by day three of a free trial
Salih Ziya Sama February 2026 "Once you opt in as a free trial, you can not go out!"
Blimey K January 2026 "intentionally hiding a way to manage subscriptions"
Ben Conner January 2026 "I was charged twice in December, a third time January"
Edwin vd W December 2025 "I immediately received a double charge for absolutely nothing"

Sources: Trustpilot, page 2.

Two structural reasons explain many of these. First, plans are per project, so a forgotten test project on Starter keeps billing on its own. Second, Bubble's 14-day Starter trial for new apps places a $1 hold on your card and converts to a paid plan unless cancelled (Bubble manual). Check each project's plan in your account, and cancel trials you do not plan to keep before day 14.

What support do you get for the price?

Recent Trustpilot reviews are split sharply on support. Adam G wrote in October 2026, "The customer support is exceptional," Emmanuel Koffi praised "Their customer support and timeliness in fixing bugs," and Willie Makumbe said the team kept him updated. On the other side, Anthony C reported a ticket with no meaningful update in about two weeks despite paying thousands a year, Kirsten Lunoe said support had not responded for weeks, and Narendar wrote that "it can take months to get a resolution." Enterprise includes a dedicated support team.

Is the Bubble annual plan worth it?

Plan, web only 12 months monthly 12 months yearly You save
Starter $468 $384 $84
Growth $1,608 $1,428 $180
Team $4,788 $4,188 $600
Plan, web + mobile 12 months monthly 12 months yearly You save
Starter $828 $708 $120
Growth $2,988 $2,508 $480
Team $7,788 $6,588 $1,200

Our arithmetic from Bubble's published prices. Annual billing saves 11% to 18%. Because Bubble's pages do not describe refunds, and workload costs can outgrow a plan quickly, monthly billing is the safer start until your app's usage settles.

How much does it cost to run several apps on Bubble?

Every project needs its own plan, which surprises builders who expect an account-level subscription. Lisbet discovered it the hard way: "the price was $49 for ONE project only."

Projects All on web Starter, yearly All on web Starter, monthly
1 $32 a month $39 a month
3 $96 a month $117 a month
5 $160 a month $195 a month
10 $320 a month $390 a month

Our arithmetic. Agencies can use the Agency plan to build client apps in development with full web and mobile access, but live deployment requires moving each project onto a client plan, and Agency plans cannot use workload tiers or overages (Bubble manual).

Starter, Growth or Team: which plan saves money?

If you need... Starter Growth Team
A live web app with light traffic $32, the cheapest $119 $349
More than one editor Not listed 2 editors 5 editors
Logs for debugging production issues 2 days 14 days 20 days
Branches for a team workflow No No 25 custom branches
More workload Add a tier or overage 250,000 included 500,000 included
Frequent mobile releases 5 builds a month 10 builds a month 20 builds a month

Workload alone rarely justifies upgrading: Growth adds only 75,000 WU over Starter for $87 more a month, which is about $22.50 of usage at the overage rate (our arithmetic). Upgrade for seats, logs, branches and mobile builds; buy workload tiers for workload.

Which Bubble plan should you pick?

If you are... Pick Why
Learning or building before launch Free 50,000 WU, no time limit
Launching a simple web app Starter, web Custom domain, $32 a month yearly
Shipping web plus iOS and Android Starter, web + mobile One project for all three, $59 yearly
A two-person team with real users Growth 2 editors, 14-day logs
A larger team with branches Team 5 editors, 25 branches, 20 mobile builds
An app with heavy steady usage Your plan plus a workload tier Cheaper than overage
A company needing SSO or data location Enterprise SOC 2, hosting location, dedicated support

When is Bubble worth the price, and when should you skip it?

Pick instead Pick Bubble if Skip Bubble if
What you build Superapp, for a native Swift iPhone app A complex web app with custom logic You only need a simple iPhone app
Budget Superapp or Base44, with flat plan prices Your traffic and workflows are predictable A usage spike would break your budget
Scale Lovable, with code you can download You plan to stay on Bubble long term You may need to export your code later
Team Lovable, with no per-project plans A small team building one main product You run many small apps
Mobile Superapp, for iOS with publishing included You need web, iOS and Android from one project You only need iOS

Is Bubble's workload pricing fair?

The case for: you pay for the server work your app does, so small apps are cheap and efficient apps stay cheap. Bubble sends alerts, lets you turn overages off, sells discounted workload tiers, and publishes the overage rate. Defenders on the forum argue it rewards good engineering, and many apps never leave Starter.

The case against: workload units are hard to predict before you build, a single bad workflow can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars overnight, and the only hard stop is taking your app offline. Plans are per project and mobile is priced separately, so the sticker price understates the bill for builders with several apps or platforms. Critics on the forum say Bubble is expensive next to running your own backend, and you cannot export your app's code to leave.

A fair reading: Bubble's pricing works for teams that design workflows carefully and watch usage. It is risky for beginners whose first mistake can be a four-figure bill.

What should you watch in Bubble's usage dashboard?

Signal What it usually means What to do
A spike on one day A loop, trigger or bulk import Find the workflow in logs and add a stop
Steady growth with traffic Server-side searches on page load Move work to the browser or cache it
One workflow dominating usage An expensive backend process Rewrite it or move it to an external service
Usage near 75% mid-month You will hit the allowance Decide: tier, overage or optimization
Charges on an app you do not use A forgotten project on a paid plan Downgrade it to Free

What does Bubble get right on price?

Bubble's free plan has no time limit and includes 50,000 workload units, the full editor and on-device mobile testing, so you can build a complete app before paying. One project can cover web, iOS and Android. Workload tiers and the overage switch give real control once you understand them, and long-time users report that well-built apps run cheaply. John Main, a four-star reviewer, called Bubble "stable, economical, and intuitive," and Ihsan Zainal wrote in October 2026: "I've built a small business with it."

Bubble vs Lovable vs Base44: which costs less?

Bubble Lovable Base44
Entry paid plan Starter, $32 yearly or $39 monthly, per project Pro, $25/mo Starter, $16 yearly or $20 monthly

As a disclosure, Superapp is our product, so weigh this accordingly. If you are pricing Bubble to put an iPhone app in the App Store, Superapp generates native Swift and a full Xcode project you own, adds subscriptions through RevenueCat and includes automated App Store publishing on a flat $25 plan with no workload meter. For complex web apps, or one project that must cover web, iOS and Android, Bubble is the more complete platform, and Superapp does not build Android. For other options, see our Bubble review and best Bubble alternatives.

Bubble budget worksheet: set these before launch

Setting Where Suggested starting value
Plan per project App plan Free until launch, then Starter
Platform App plan Web, mobile or bundle, only what you ship
Overages Settings, App plan On with alerts for a live business; off for a side project
Custom workload alert Workload settings 50% of your allowance
Workload tier App plan Only once usage is steady
Recursive workflows Backend workflows A counter and a maximum on every loop
Trial projects Account Cancel before day 14 if not continuing
Unused projects Account Downgrade to Free

Decide in five questions

  1. Is this mainly a web app with complex logic? If yes, Bubble is a strong fit.
  2. Can your budget absorb a usage spike? If not, keep overages off and accept possible downtime, or choose a flat-priced builder.
  3. Will you run several apps? If yes, multiply every plan by the number of projects.
  4. Is the main goal an iPhone app in the App Store? If yes, compare a native-Swift builder with publishing included, such as Superapp.
  5. Do you need web, iOS and Android from one project? If yes, price Bubble's web plus mobile bundle.

How to keep your Bubble bill down

  1. Stay on Free until you launch; it has no time limit.
  2. Choose overages on or off deliberately, and set custom alerts.
  3. Put a counter and a hard stop on every recursive workflow.
  4. Avoid database triggers for bulk updates; use scheduled or API workflows.
  5. Move heavy processing to the browser or an external service where it fits.
  6. Buy a workload tier once usage is steady, rather than paying overage every month.
  7. Downgrade unused projects to Free, since each one bills separately.
  8. Cancel Starter trials you do not plan to keep before day 14.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Bubble cost per month?
For a web app, Bubble costs $32 a month on Starter, $119 on Growth and $349 on Team billed annually, or $39, $134 and $399 monthly. Mobile and web-plus-mobile plans cost more. Building on the Free plan costs nothing.

Is Bubble free?
Yes. The Free plan has no time limit and includes 50,000 workload units and 500 AI credits a month, the full editor and on-device mobile testing. You need a paid plan for a custom domain and to publish mobile apps to the stores.

How much is the Bubble Starter plan?
Web-only Starter costs $32 a month billed annually or $39 monthly since October 20, 2026. Mobile-only Starter costs $42 or $49, and web plus mobile $59 or $69. Starter includes 175,000 workload units a month.

Why did Bubble's Starter plan go up?
On October 20, 2026, Bubble raised web-only Starter from $29 to $32 a month on annual billing and to $39 monthly, alongside launching Agent 2 and adding AI credits to every plan. Growth and Team prices did not change.

What are Bubble workload units?
Workload units measure the server work Bubble does to run your app, such as database operations, workflows and API calls. Each plan includes a monthly allowance, from 50,000 on Free to 500,000 on Team.

How much do Bubble workload overages cost?
Without a workload tier, overage costs $0.30 per 1,000 workload units, or $300 per million. Workload tiers offer a lower rate if your usage is steady.

What happens when my Bubble app runs out of workload units?
If overages are on, the app keeps running and you pay overage. If overages are off, Bubble takes the app offline until you enable overages, buy a workload tier or the next billing period starts.

Can a Bubble workflow cause a huge bill?
Yes. Users have reported a looping workflow using about 7 million workload units overnight, with a $1,000 charge, and a data trigger using 2.2 million units, about $676. Add counters and limits to recursive workflows.

Does Bubble refund overage charges from mistakes?
Users report that Bubble has offered courtesy credits but treats them as a one-time gesture per account owner. Bubble's pricing pages do not describe a refund policy, so plan your overage setting before launch.

How much does a Bubble mobile app cost?
Mobile-only plans cost $42, $169 and $449 a month billed annually, and web-plus-mobile bundles $59, $209 and $549. You also need Apple's $99 yearly developer account and Google Play's $25 one-time fee.

How many mobile builds does Bubble allow?
Starter allows 10 builds a month for the first three months and 5 after; Growth 15 then 10; Team 25 then 20. Live app versions are capped at 3, 5 and 8. Failed builds do not count.

Is Bubble priced per app or per account?

Avoid server-side searches on every page load, add limits to recursive workflows, use scheduled workflows instead of triggers for bulk changes, and move heavy processing to the browser or an external service.
