Wix Pricing: The Short Answer

Wix has a free plan and four Premium plans: Light at $17 a month, Core at $29, Business at $39 and Business Elite at $159 when billed yearly, or $24, $36, $46 and $172 billed monthly, plus custom Enterprise pricing. Those are the regular prices. Wix often sells Core, Business and Business Elite at 50% off for the first yearly term, then renews at full price, which is why many users see their bill double in year two. On top of the plan come a domain after the first year, business email, paid apps, payment processing and, for a native mobile app, a separate Branded App plan. Below you will find every plan, what each extra really costs, how renewals and refunds work, what real users report, and how Wix's pricing compares to Superapp, Webflow and Framer.

Quick answer: how much does Wix cost? As of November 2026, Wix is free with a Wix subdomain and ads, and Premium plans cost $17 a month (Light), $29 (Core), $39 (Business) or $159 (Business Elite) billed yearly, which is $204, $348, $468 or $1,908 a year. Billed monthly they cost $24, $36, $46 and $172. Promotions often halve the first year on Core and above, but renewals are at the regular price. After year one, expect about $15 to $21 a year for a .com domain, about $6 a month per email mailbox and $3 to $20 a month per paid app. If you want an AI-generated website plus a native iPhone app on one flat plan, an AI builder like Superapp is the simpler bill.

How much does each Wix plan cost?

Light is the cheapest way to put a site on your own domain without Wix ads. But Light cannot accept payments or sell products, so any business that takes money online needs Core or higher.

Is Wix free?

Yes. The free plan lets you build and publish a site at a Wix address with Wix ads, 500 MB of storage and Wix's AI site builder. You cannot connect your own domain, remove Wix branding or accept payments on it.

Many people searching "is Wix free" are surprised by the domain rule. Zachary Howe wrote on Trustpilot that "after i paid $10 for it," meaning a domain, "i have to now buy the premium plan" to use it (Trustpilot, September 2026). Buy the plan first: yearly Premium plans include a domain voucher for the first year.

Is Wix cheaper on monthly, yearly or multi-year billing?

Longer terms are cheaper per month, but they are paid up front and renew automatically.

Wix also sells two- and three-year plans. WebsitePlanet's examples put Business on a two-year term at about $35 a month, or $840 up front, and Core on a three-year term at $846 up front, about $23.50 a month (WebsitePlanet). That is the lowest regular price per month, but a two- or three-year payment is a large, mostly non-refundable commitment. Siobhan PA wrote "I wish I could cancel my 2 year contract" (Trustpilot, October 2026).

The free domain also depends on the term. Wix's FAQ says "Most yearly or multi-year Premium plans come with a 1 year free domain voucher," only on a first-time Premium purchase, redeemable within 60 days and only for a new domain (Wix plans). Monthly plans do not include it.

Why did my Wix renewal double?

Because the first term was discounted. Wix regularly runs promotions that halve Core, Business and Business Elite for the first yearly or multi-year term. PricingSaaS recorded 50% off in February 2026 and again in April 2026, applying "only to the initial term" of yearly or multi-year subscriptions, and TechRadar reported the same sale in December 2025 (PricingSaaS, TechRadar). Light is usually excluded.

That is exactly what reviewers describe. Catherine and Gordon Beyer wrote: "Our annual Business plan charge doubled from $248.27 to $496.54." and that "Wix declined a full refund and stated that no further escalation was available." (Trustpilot, October 2026). Their numbers match a $234 Business promo year plus tax, renewing at $468 plus tax. Jerry A wrote "The fee doubled to $400" and "Their refund policy is a scam!" (Trustpilot, October 2026). A WebsitePlanet reader reported a two-year plan renewing from $95 to over $600, and the site's team replied that renewal rates can be "considerably higher" after new-customer discounts end (WebsitePlanet).

The discount code TAKE10, widely listed by review sites, gives 10% off the first year only (Website Builder Expert). Budget for the regular price from year two.

How do Wix auto-renewals and refunds work?

Wix Premium plans renew automatically. ExpertMarket reports that yearly and two-year plans renew 14 days before the plan expires (ExpertMarket). Wix offers a 14-day money-back guarantee, but its FAQ applies it to the initial upgrade to a Premium plan: you can "cancel within 14 days and receive a full refund," with no questions asked (Wix plans). Review sites note it covers "only the initial payment, not any renewals," and not domains, apps or add-ons (Website Builder Expert, WebsitePlanet).

The renewal timing is what catches most people out. DBE wrote "God forbid you forget you have auto-renew on." and noted "They’ll let you refund initial purchases." (Trustpilot, October 2026). Bahar Sabati wrote "No reminder before the charge" and "Wix charged me again and now refuses to refund me." Alex GB wrote that Wix was "AUTOMATICALLY renewing your membership without letting you know" and that he was "Still waiting on my refund of over £250 by the way" (Trustpilot, October 2026).

Several reviewers were charged for sites or services they thought they had cancelled. Magdalena Lenzen wrote "but still apparently my subscription was not turned off" and Daniel Anderson warned "they will automatically charge you again the next year" (Trustpilot, October 2026). Turning off auto-renew is a separate step from deleting a site; check each subscription in your billing settings.

What does Wix really charge for beyond the plan price?

One thing Wix does not charge is its own transaction fee on sales: you pay the payment processor's fee, but no extra Wix percentage on any Premium plan (ExpertMarket). That is a real advantage over Webflow's Standard ecommerce plan, which adds 2%.

How much does a Wix domain cost?

The voucher is "only included with the first time purchase of a Premium plan" and cannot be used to renew an existing domain (Wix plans). If you already own a domain elsewhere, you can connect it instead.

Domains also cause the most technical friction. vooble wrote that "Wix does not allow custom nameserver (NS) delegation for domains bought through them" (Trustpilot, October 2026), and Jacob BE described removing a domain and being told to "contact Cloudflare" (Trustpilot, September 2026). If you may want advanced DNS later, buying the domain at a separate registrar and connecting it to Wix keeps your options open.

How much is Wix email?

Wix sells Google Workspace mailboxes, about $6 a month per mailbox on yearly billing according to Website Builder Expert (ExpertMarket lists $4.95 a month per user). A team of three is about $216 a year by our arithmetic. Andy P wrote "I was charged $84 for my email connection to google workspace YESTERDAY." and said he asked support for the money back (Trustpilot, October 2026). Brady Smith wrote that "I had to buy another domain to attach a second shorter email" (Trustpilot, October 2026).

What do Wix apps cost?

The Wix App Market has free and paid apps. Paid ones typically cost $3 to $20 a month, and some cost more than $100 (Website Builder Expert, WebsitePlanet). Each is a separate subscription with its own renewal. Aysun wrote that after a $348 Premium renewal, "I was subsequently charged another $179 for an app subscription" (Trustpilot, October 2026).

Processing fees apply on any website platform, so compare them with your current processor, not with zero.

How much does Wix cost for a mobile app?

Superapp builds a native Swift iPhone app on its $25 Pro plan, while Wix sells native iOS and Android apps through a separate Branded App plan that Wix said starts at $99 a month, billed on top of a website plan (Wix press release). Wix announced AI creation for those apps in June 2024 and helps submit them to the App Store and Google Play.

By our arithmetic, a Business site at $39 plus a Branded App at $99 is at least $138 a month, or $1,656 a year, before developer fees. The upside is that Wix covers Android as well as iOS from one place, which Superapp does not.

How much does Wix Studio cost?

Wix Studio is Wix's platform for agencies and freelancers, with its own site plans. Wix's Studio plans page does not show prices in text, and third-party figures conflict:

The 14-day money-back guarantee applies to new Studio plans too, but not to renewals (Website Builder Expert). Robert Adelman, who manages client sites, wrote "They incorrectly charged me for a clients website renewal!!" and that a refund "will take 45 days" (Trustpilot, September 2026).

Light vs Core vs Business

A useful quirk: because promotions usually cover Core and Business but not Light, Core on a 50% deal ($14.50 a month) can cost less than Light ($17) in the first year. From year two, Core costs $12 a month more than Light.

Refunds, renewals and billing: what users report

On Trustpilot, Wix scores 3.4 out of 5 from 29,343 reviews, with 71% five-star and 22% one-star (Trustpilot, checked November 4, 2026). The positive reviews are mostly about ease of use and support; the negative ones are mostly about billing.

The common thread is not hidden prices but timing. Renewals happen automatically, up to 14 days before the plan ends, at the regular price, and Wix's refund guarantee covers only first purchases. Set your own reminder a month before each renewal.

What do Wix customers say about value and support?

Wix's reviews are far more mixed than Webflow's or Framer's, and the praise is worth hearing.

Lisa, a two-star reviewer, made the point that sums up the trade-off: "there aren't many sites that will host your page without charging a monthly fee" (Trustpilot, September 2026). Wix's free plan is genuinely useful; the cost arrives when you need your own domain, payments and a second year.

What will Wix cost you? Five real-world budgets

These budgets add up what a typical setup pays in year two, after any first-year promotion and free domain, using regular yearly prices. They are our arithmetic, not quotes from Wix.

Domain at about $21.35 for a .com, email at about $6 a month per mailbox and Branded App at $99 a month, from the sources above. Totals exclude tax.

In year one, with a 50% promotion and a free domain, the coach's plan line would be $174 instead of $348. That gap is the "doubling" users describe.

How a $14.50 deal turns into a $47 month: three illustrations

These are illustrations built from listed prices, not reports from specific users.

1. The promo renewal. A consultant buys Core on a 50% sale at $14.50 a month, $174 for the year, with a free domain. A year later Core renews at $348 and the domain at about $21. She has added a booking app at $10 a month and one Google Workspace mailbox at about $6. Year two costs about $561, or $47 a month, more than three times year one.

2. The monthly plan that never switched. A shop owner chooses Business on monthly billing at $46 to avoid a big payment. Three years later he has paid $1,656 for the plan alone, $252 more than three yearly payments of $468, by our arithmetic, and received no free domain.

3. The two-year lock-in. A startup buys a two-year Business plan up front at about $840. Six months in, it moves to another platform. Because Wix's refund guarantee covers only the first 14 days, the remaining 18 months are usually lost.

What does a Wix site cost over three years?

A first-year promotion makes Wix look cheap; the three-year total is the honest number. These totals use regular yearly prices from year two, a .com domain at about $21 a year from year two, and no apps or email. They are our arithmetic.

Light assumes no promotion, as Light is usually excluded. Monthly billing totals are 36 months at $24, $36, $46 and $172, without a free domain.

Spread over three years, Core on a promotion averages about $25 a month and Business about $34, before email, apps and payment fees. That is a fair way to compare Wix with tools that do not discount the first year.

Why does Wix show different prices in my country?

Wix sets prices by location, and its plans page says prices vary by location. Outside the US you will see local currency, and in some countries tax is included in the displayed price (Wix plans). The US prices in this guide will not match what you see in Australia, the UK, India or the EU.

Reviewers outside the US often quote local amounts. Erika Mayer in Australia wrote that Wix "withdrew AU $504 from my account" without notice, and mokhtar mohammad in Malaysia wrote simply "Price too expensive." (Trustpilot, October 2026). Always check the price on your own checkout page.

How to cancel Wix without being charged again

Most surprise charges come from subscriptions that were never switched off. Each item on your account renews on its own.

Do this at least two weeks before your renewal date. Krystein's one-star review is a common ending: "it's not worth the money" (Trustpilot, October 2026). Cancelling cleanly is how you make sure leaving does not cost extra.

1. Buy on a promotion, but budget the regular price. Wix's 50% deals cover the first term only.
2. Put the renewal date in your calendar. Set a reminder a month before; Wix may renew 14 days before the plan ends.
3. Use the 14 days. The money-back guarantee only covers your first Premium purchase within 14 days.
4. Choose yearly over monthly once you are sure. It saves $84 a year on Light, Core and Business.
5. Be careful with two- and three-year plans. They are cheapest per month but are paid up front and hard to undo.
6. Register your domain wisely. Use the free voucher, but compare renewal and privacy prices at other registrars.
7. Audit apps every quarter. Each paid app is a separate subscription.
8. Turn off auto-renew for sites you are retiring. Deleting a site is not the same as cancelling its plan.
9. Use the TAKE10 code if no bigger sale is running. It gives 10% off the first year.
10. Price a branded app separately. At $99 a month and up, it may cost more than the website.
