How to choose an app name
A good app name follows five rules, and two of them come from Apple’s App Review Guideline 2.3.7.
Unique. An App Store app name can be used by only one app per localization, so check the name before you design around it.
Under 30 characters. As of October 2026, App Store app names are limited to 30 characters, including spaces.
Brand word first. App Store search results usually cut names off around 26 characters, so the word people remember goes first and the keyword after it.
Easy to say and spell. A name people can say out loud and type from memory gets found after a friend mentions it.
No trademarks. App Review Guideline 2.3.7 bans trademarked terms, popular app names, prices and irrelevant phrases in app names.

Check the name, then make the icon
The App Store name checker shows whether a live App Store app already uses a name, lists similar apps and suggests unique alternatives. The AI app icon generator then turns your name and description into an App Store icon. Superapp names, designs and builds your native iPhone app, then prepares it for the App Store.
