Website, SEO and GEO

How Selfdrive builds your app's website and writes content that shows up on Google and in ChatGPT.

Selfdrive gives your app a website on your own domain and fills it with articles aimed at two readers: search engines and AI assistants. GEO, generative engine optimization, means writing the kind of page ChatGPT cites when someone asks for an app like yours.

The website

If you built the app in Superapp and generated a website, Selfdrive uses it. Otherwise the Website setup task creates one from your App Store listing in a Superapp project, and the Website domain task connects a domain you control. You need access to the domain’s DNS settings. See Generate your app website for how the website itself works.

Research: what ChatGPT answers

The SEO prompt research task is the core of GEO. The agent writes 40 to 50 prompts across 5 to 7 topics, the way a person would type them into ChatGPT to end up at a product like yours: keyword searches, natural questions, requests for recommendations and constraints such as price or platform. The prompts find your category, never your brand name.

After you approve the task, Selfdrive runs each prompt through ChatGPT in the background. This takes several minutes, and the agent messages you in chat when it is done. The result shows, for every prompt:

  • the answer ChatGPT gave and the products it recommended;
  • the pages it cited, which are what it trusts today for that question;
  • the web searches it ran to answer.

Pages that are cited again and again show the article shapes that win, often comparisons and lists. A prompt with no searches means the model answered from memory; that is reported as “no searches seen”, not as zero interest.

The content plan

From the research the agent proposes a list of articles. Each one is written to answer a question people actually ask and to be the kind of page AI assistants cite. In the SEO tab you approve or remove articles; nothing else moves them.

Approved articles are written by a job that runs at 04 UTC, an hour after the nightly review, and published to your website. The agent reports each one in chat.

What to expect

  • The research runs once per request. It is not daily tracking and has no visibility score.
  • Search engines and AI assistants decide what they index and cite. Selfdrive reports what it published and what the research showed, and does not guarantee rankings or mentions.
  • Content takes months to compound. Pair it with Apple Ads or ASO for faster results.
